Vivo’s iQOO sub-brand introduced an affordable gaming-focused smartphone called the iQOO Neo. The company is now gearing up to launch a more powerful version of the iQOO Neo, dubbed iQOO Neo 855. Key specifications of the upcoming smartphone has now surfaced courtesy of its listing on TENAA, days before the smartphone’s formal launch in China.
According to the TENAA listing, Vivo iQOO Neo 855 will be nearly identical to the regular iQOO Neo that was launched earlier this year. It will have a 6.38-inch display panel with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution. As its name clearly suggests, under the hood will be a Snapdragon 855 chipset, a significant upgrade over the Snapdragon 845 that powers its predecessor. The phone is expected to be available in multiple memory configurations with 6GB and 8GB RAM options paired with 64/128/256GB onboard storage.
Moving on to optics, the iQOO Neo 855 will come with a triple-camera setup at the back with a 12MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary sensor, and a 2MP tertiary sensor. Keeping the lights on will be a large 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast charging. Its predecessor, in comparison, offers 22.5W fast charging support. The alleged iQOO Neo 855 spec sheet also lists a 16MP selfie camera, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. In terms of physical size, the device will be identical to the current iQOO Neo, which confirms the company hasn’t made any major changes to the design.
Going by a recent retailer listing, the iQOO Neo 855 will come in Carbon Black and Electro-Optic Purple colors. A third special edition version is expected to be available as well. All the phone’s key details are expected to be confirmed on October 24, which is when the smartphone will be officially unveiled in China.
