Update (October 31, 2019): Xiaomi has now revealed that the upcoming Mi TV 5 series will come equipped with a 12nm Amlogic T972 chipset, paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. The same chipset also powers Xiaomi’s flagship-class Mi TV Pro, which supports 8K video playback.
Xiaomi is all geared up to launch a series of products in China on November 5. We pretty much have an idea as to how the upcoming Mi CC9 Pro and the company’s first-ever Mi Watch are going to look like. Now, thanks to an official post by the company on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, we know how the upcoming Mi TV 5 is going to look like.
Xiaomi Mi TV 5: First Look
As seen in the poster, the Mi TV 5 will come in the typical gray matte finish. On the right side of the TV, we can see the “Designed by Xiaomi” inscription. Although we cannot judge for sure, the Mi TV 5 will have almost negligible bezels, as has been the case with the previous models of the Mi TV lineup.
The more you look, the more you like it
As far as the features of the Mi TV 5 go, not much is known about it as of now, but the company has already confirmed that it will cover up to 108 percent of the NTSC color gamut and will have support for 4K content. There are some reports which talk about the company using Samsung’s QLED panel, something which is also used in the OnePlus TV Q1 and the OnePlus TV Q1 Pro, for brighter and more colorful images.
As of now, the rest of the specifications and the price of the Mi TV 5 are unknown, but we are sure to receive further intel on the same in the coming days as November 5 is not too far away now.
