Samsung is expected to introduce its next Android Go smartphone very soon. According to reports, the device will be called the Galaxy A2 Core. Once launched, the Galaxy A2 Core will take on the latest Android Go devices such as the Nokia 1 Plus and Redmi Go. Ahead of its launch, a support page for the SM-A260G/DS variant of the entry-level phone has now gone live on the Samsung India website.

Samsung Galaxy A2 Core Launching in India Soon?

The Samsung Galaxy A2 Core support page on the Samsung India website confirms the smartphone will be launched in the country very soon. Since Android Go smartphones are primarily targeted at emerging markets, there is a good chance that the Galaxy A2 Core may make its global debut in India. As expected, however, the support page does not include any information regarding the upcoming device.

Samsung Galaxy A2 Core is tipped to sport a 5-inch LCD display with 540 x 960 qHD resolution. It will be powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset, which means the Galaxy A2 Core will be significantly more powerful than any other Android Go smartphone released so far this year. In the memory department, the Android Go device will have 1GB of RAM. The storage capacity, on the other hand, is yet to be revealed. However, it has been confirmed that the Galaxy A2 Core will include a dedicated microSD card slot for further expansion.

For optics, Samsung’s upcoming Android Go smartphone will have a 5MP camera on the back with 1.12um pixel size and an f/1.9 aperture. Fueling the internals of the Android Go smartphone will be a 2600mAh capacity battery. While the Galaxy A2 Core will be quite impressive in terms of performance, it will ship with the older Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) instead of the latest Android Pie (Go Edition).
