Huawei is set to launch the MatePad Pro Android tablet at an event in Shanghai, China later today. Hours before the launch, nearly the complete specifications of the tablet have leaked on Weibo.
According to the leak, Huawei MatePad Pro will arrive with a 10.8-inch display panel featuring 2560 x 1600 resolution and an impressive 90% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, it will be running on HiSilicon’s latest Kirin 990 chipset. The tablet will be available in two memory configurations: 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage.
As for the optics, Huawei MatePad Pro will have a 13MP camera on the back and an 8MP sensor on the front. Keeping the lights on will be a 7,250mAh battery, with support for 40W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It will have 7.5W reverse wireless charging support as well. However, Huawei will not bundle a 40W charger in the box. Instead, the MatePad Pro will ship with a 20W charger.
As for the physical dimensions, the tablet will measure 159 x 245 x 7.2mm and weigh in at 460 grams. It is expected to ship with Android 10-based EMUI 10 out of the box, although it will ship without Google apps and services pre-installed.
Thanks to its powerful hardware, the MatePad Pro will be positioned as a rival to Apple’s iPad Pro. As shown by a promotional video leaked online last week, the tablet will have stylus support as well.
