The latest post on Weibo reveals Chinese boy band TFBoys will be making an appearance at the Nova 5 series press conference on June 21. Huawei has also announced a contest for its fans, allowing five people to win tickets for the Nova 5 series product launch event.
The Nova 5 is expected to arrive with a 6.39-inch AMOLED display featuring an under-display fingerprint scanner. Powering the upcoming Nova series flagship will be a Kirin 980 octa-core chipset, likely paired with up to 8GB RAM. It may sport a quad-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP primary sensor. The smartphone will pack an impressive 4200mAh capacity battery with 44W fast charging support.
On the other hand, the Nova 5i specifications were revealed by TENAA yesterday. The mid-range smartphone will have a 6.4-inch IPS LCD display panel featuring Full HD+ resolution. It will be powered by an octa-core Kirin 710 mobile processor with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. On the back of the handset will be a 24MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP quad-camera setup. For selfies, it will have a 24MP snapper on the front. In terms of battery life, the Nova 5i will be slightly less impressive than the Nova 5, thanks to a smaller 3900mAh battery. As far as the software is concerned, both the Nova 5 and Nova 5i will run on Huawei’s latest EMUI 9 based on Android Pie.
