Update: The upcoming Huawei P Smart Z has now been spotted at the US FCC website. While the FCC filings do not reveal a lot about the hardware inside the phone, the documents have revealed the smartphone’s battery capacity. The P Smart Z will pack a 3900mAh capacity battery. In comparison, the P Smart (2019) and P Smart+ (2019) smartphones have a 3400mAh capacity battery. While the P Smart Z (Pro) will have a bigger battery than the other P Smart models released recently, it will still have only 10W wired charging support.
Russian certification agency EEC certified a few upcoming Huawei and Honor smartphones yesterday, including the Huawei P Smart Z. We have now spotted the upcoming smartphone in a user agent profile on the Huawei website, which confirms a few key details.
Huawei P Smart Z to Have a Full HD+ Display
The STK-LX1 user agent profile on Huawei’s website reveals the smartphone will sport a 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Huawei’s P Smart (2019) and P Smart+ (2019) models also come with the exact same display resolution. It is possible that the Huawei P Smart Z will have an identical 6.21-inch sized display as the other two P Smart models, although we cannot be completely sure at this stage. Apart from the screen resolution, the user agent profile confirms the Huawei P Smart Z will be running on Android Pie-based EMUI 9.0 out of the box.
The smartphone’s EEC certification suggests while it will be marketed as the Huawei P Smart Z in some markets, it could launch as P Smart Pro in a few other markets. The “Pro” suffix would mean the smartphone could have a few upgrades when compared to the standard P Smart (2019). Both the Huawei P Smart (2019) and P Smart+ (2019) models run on a 12nm HiSilicon Kirin 710 octa-core processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM. While we do not expect the P Smart Z to run on a different chipset, it may offer slightly more RAM.
In the camera department, Huawei P Smart has a 13MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the rear and an 8MP snapper on the front. The P Smart+ (2019), on the other hand, comes with a more impressive 24MP + 16MP + 2MP triple-camera setup on the back. It is likely that the P Smart Z may have the same triple-camera setup as the P Smart+ (2019).
