Chinese PC maker Lenovo has released a new poster on Weibo today, teasing the launch of a new C-series smartphone. According to the launch poster, the C-series smartphone from the company will debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 in Las Vegas later this week. While Lenovo did not showcase any new smartphone at CES last year, it is rumored to debut at least a few new smartphones. And if some rumors are to be believed, the first Lenovo foldable smartphones may also be unveiled in Las Vegas this week.
Lenovo C-Series to Debut at CES 2019
The launch poster does not include any clues whatsoever regarding the upcoming C-series smartphone. While Lenovo has launched the Vibe C, Vibe C2, and Vibe C2 Power smartphones in the past, they were all launched under the C-series. The upcoming handset, however, is likely to be the first to be launched under an all-new C-series line of smartphones. Since Lenovo has mostly been focusing on the budget smartphone segment recently, there is a possibility that the company’s next offering will also be a budget-friendly device.
Lenovo recently announced the Z5 Pro GT, which happens to be the world’s first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon 855 SoC. It is no less impressive in the memory department either, packing a whopping 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. The rest of its key specifications, however, remain identical to the standard Z5 Pro announced in November last year. Both smartphones sport a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. At the rear, Lenovo Z5 Pro and Z5 Pro GT feature a 16MP + 24MP dual-camera setup with 4K video recording and a dual-LED flash. The mechanical pop-up module houses a 16MP + 8MP dual-camera setup for selfies. Keeping the lights on is a 3350mAh capacity non-removable battery with fast charging support. As for software, both handsets run on Android 8.1 Oreo-based ZUI 10 currently.
