Lenovo may soon launch a new Android tablet running on the latest Android Pie operating system. According to a tip that we have received, the upcoming Lenovo tablet will be launched as the Tab V7. The last 7-inch Android tablets launched by the company were the Lenovo Tab 7 and Lenovo Tab 7 Essential, both of which were released in November 2017. While the Tab 7 and Tab 7 Essential were both entry-level offerings, the Tab V7 will be a mid-range tablet.
Lenovo Tab V7 to Feature a 7.0-inch Display
As is quite clear by the name of the device, the Lenovo Tab V7 will feature a 7.0-inch sized display. The display resolution, however, cannot be confirmed at this point. In terms of design, you can see in the render above that the Lenovo Tab V7 features much slimmer bezels compared to previous 7-inch Android tablets released by the company. Thanks to the smaller bezels on all sides, the Lenovo Tab V7 will be a lot more compact than its predecessors. In the memory department, the tablet is going to come with 4GB of RAM and two storage options. While the base variant will include 32GB of internal storage, the more expensive variant will offer 64GB of internal storage. For further expansion, the tablet is likely to include a microSD card slot as well. What may be a little disappointing for some buyers, however, is the lack of a fingerprint sensor. The rest of the tablet’s hardware specifications are yet to be confirmed.
On the software front, Lenovo Tab V7 will ship with the Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box. Similar to previous tablets launched by Lenovo, you can expect to see the company’s custom user-interface layer on top of Android Pie. While we are not fully sure, there is a chance that Lenovo may introduce the Tab V7 at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona next month. If the Tab V7 does not show up at MWC 2019, we expect the tablet to be quietly introduced sometime before the end of the current quarter.
