Back in September 2019, Xiaomi launched the Mi 9 Pro 5G smartphone in China. The device was initially introduced in two memory configurations – 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB of onboard storage. As it turns out, the base variant of the Mi 9 Pro 5G is soon going to be replaced by a new 6GB variant as the same has recently been spotted on the TENAA certification website.

As seen in the image, the 6GB variant of the Mi 9 Pro 5G smartphone has now got listed, meaning that we can expect it to hit the markets in the coming days. The rest of the specifications of the device remain intact.
Speaking of the specifications, the Mi 9 Pro 5G comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch on top of it. The device comes loaded with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chip and is paired with 8GB/12GB/6GB (now) of RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB of internal storage, as said. The SoC includes a Snapdragon X50 5G modem to offer 5G connectivity. For the camera enthusiasts, the Mi 9 Pro 5G smartphone comes with a triple rear camera setup which comprises a 48MP primary shooter, a 16MP wide-angle camera, and a 12MP telephoto lens. The device houses a 4,000 mAh battery which has support for up to 45 W fast charging.
As far as the price of the new 6GB RAM variant of the Mi 9 Pro 5G is concerned, since the earlier base variant of the device came with a CNY 3,699 price tag, we can certainly expect the new variant to be priced below that. However, the details surrounding the price and even the launch of this new variant are pretty scarce as of now.
