Update 2 (January 30, 2019): The OPPO PCDM00 and PCDT00 smartphones have now been certified by the 3C certification agency in China. The OPPO PCDM00/PCDT00 3C certificates tell us the handset will ship with the AK733YH/AK733KX/AK733JH/AK733CY/AK733HK power adapter in the box with 5V 2A or 10W output rating. No other specifications have been listed in the 3C certificates.
Update (January 25, 2019): TENAA has now listed the key specifications of the PCDM00 and PCDT00 variants on its website. As expected, it turns out the two variants will be nearly identical in terms of hardware specifications. The upcoming OPPO smartphone features a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1520 HD+ resolution, which means it is likely to be a budget-friendly offering. In terms of size, the TENAA listing reveals the handset measures 155.9 x 75.4 x 8.3mm and weighs 179 grams. Under the hood, it will be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz, although the exact chipset has not been revealed yet. The clock speed, however, suggests it could be a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC.
Moving on to the memory department, TENAA reveals the handset will pack 4GB of RAM and come with 64GB of internal storage. It includes a microSD card slot as well, allowing further expansion up to 256GB. As for optics, the handset features 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras and a 16MP selfie camera on the front. Keeping the lights on will be a large 4100mAh capacity battery. The smartphone will run on Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 out of the box at launch.
The OPPO PCDM00 and PCDT00 smartphones were recently granted CMIIT certification in China. Days after getting certified by CMIIT, the two models have shown up on the TENAA website. Unfortunately, however, TENAA is yet to reveal the complete hardware specifications of the two models. While it was being speculated that the two models could be launched as the R19 and R19 Pro in China, the images published by TENAA suggest otherwise. However, it remains to be seen if the PCDM00 and PCDT00 are simply two different variants of one smartphone or two different smartphones.
OPPO PCDM00, PCDT00 Models Launching in China Soon?
As you can see in the images above, the two upcoming OPPO models sport a waterdrop-style notched display. At the rear, the OPPO PCDM00 and PCDT00 sport a dual-camera setup with two horizontally-stacked sensors and an LED flash module next to them. The camera module, as well as the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, have gold accents around the edges. Since the R17 and R17 Pro both feature in-display fingerprint sensors, it is quite clear that the PCDM00 and PCDT00 are not upper mid-range smartphones.
Aside from the presence of a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, the overall design of the two unannounced OPPO models is quite similar to the K1. The OPPO K1 was launched in October last year as the company’s most affordable Android smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Unlike the OPPO K1 and a few other mid-range handsets launched by the company recently, the PCDM00 and PCDT00 will not be available in gradient colors. Going by the images published on the TENAA website, they will be available in Red and Black color options at launch. The hardware specifications of the two models remain a mystery for now. However, we will not have to wait very long to find out more about them as TENAA is expected to list the key specifications of both models on its website very soon.
