POCO F2 Caught on Geekbench

A few days back, an alleged POCO F1 Lite running on a Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset had popped up on the Geekbench database, hinting at the possibility of a “Lite” version of the POCO F1 going official soon. We have now spotted another upcoming POCO smartphone on the popular benchmark database, this time the flagship POCO F2. While the previous POCO F2 listing on Geekbench had suggested the smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset, the latest listing points towards the newer and more powerful Snapdragon 855.

Snapdragon 855-Powered POCO F2 to Launch Later This Year?

If the Geekbench listing is genuine, the POCO F2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset under the hood and run on the Android Q operating system out of the box. Since the POCO F1 features the Snapdragon 845, it is highly likely that its successor will run on the Snapdragon 855 chipset. However, we aren’t quite convinced that the POCO F2 will launch with the Android Q operating system out of the box. What is also quite odd is that the listing reveals the device packs just 4GB of RAM. Even the base variant of the POCO F1 packs 6GB of RAM.

Taking a look at the benchmark scores, the device scored just 1,776 points in the single-core test and 6.097 points in the multi-core test. Both the scores are extremely low for a device purportedly running on a Snapdragon 855 chipset.

The POCO F1 was launched in August last year, so its successor will possibly arrive sometime in the third quarter of the year. Unlike what the Geekbench listing above is suggesting, we think the POCO F2 will launch with the Android Pie operating system out of the box. The Android Q update for the smartphone might be rolled out a few weeks after it goes on sale.
