Redmi launched its flagship K20 Pro smartphone in China yesterday, alongside the mid-range K20 smartphone and the RedmiBook 14. The company has now made the Android Q Beta available for owners of the Redmi K20 Pro in China. This makes the K20 Pro the third Xiaomi smartphone after the Mi MIX 3 5G and Mi 9 to be added to the Android Q Beta program.

Android Q Beta for Redmi K20 Pro Now Available to Download

The Android Q Beta for the Redmi K20 Pro can be downloaded by users in China from this link. Needless to say, however, the Android Q Beta has a lot of bugs, so you cannot expect a stable experience currently. Before installing the Android Q Beta build on your Redmi K20 Pro, do make sure that you perform a backup of your data. Once you have backed up your data and downloaded the Android Q Beta build, you will need to install it on the phone via the fastboot method.

Redmi has confirmed that several features are currently unsupported in the Android Q Beta build for the K20 Pro. Once you have the Android Q beta installed on the device, you will notice the fingerprint scanner does not work. You will not be able to switch between multiple users either. Bluetooth search may not work for certain keyboards. The Settings app is reported to crash once a user selects “App & Notifications”. In some cases, videos downloaded from Google Drive may not show the length of the video in the photo gallery. To opt-out of the Android Q Beta program or revert to factory settings, you will need to use the same fastboot method.

Some of the other devices that are part of the Android Q Beta program include the ASUS ZenFone 5Z, Essential Phone, LG G8, Nokia 8.1, OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OPPO Reno, Realme 3 Pro, Sony Xperia XZ3, Vivo X27, Vivo NEX S, Vivo NEX A, Google Pixel 3, Google Pixel 3 XL, Google Pixel 2, Google Pixel 2 XL, Google Pixel, and Google Pixel XL.
