Samsung Galaxy A50 Bluetooth Certification SM-A505FN

Update (February 1, 2019): After getting certified by the Bluetooth SIG, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A50 mid-range smartphone has been certified by the NCC agency in Taiwan. The Galaxy A50 variant certified by NCC happens to be the SM-A505GN/DS. Similar to the previous Bluetooth certification, the Galaxy A50 NCC certification does not tell us anything new about the upcoming smartphone. However, the certification suggests the Galaxy A50 may be launched soon. While rumors suggest the Galaxy A50 may be launched alongside other 2019 Galaxy A-series smartphones sometime in the second quarter of the year, there is now a good chance that the handset may be formally introduced before the end of the first quarter.

Galaxy A50 NCC Certified

Recently leaked live images of the Galaxy A50 showed the smartphone may sport a triple-camera setup on the back. Unlike the Galaxy A7 (2018), the upcoming Galaxy A50 is expected to have a ToF 3D sensor on the back. It will also feature a USB Type-C port on the bottom and could sport an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is expected to have an Infinity-V display on the front, similar to the recently launched Galaxy M10 and M20 smartphones.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A50 mid-range smartphone recently bagged Wi-Fi certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance. The SM-A505FN variant of the smartphone has now been certified by the Bluetooth SIG. While the Bluetooth certification does not reveal any new information regarding the Galaxy A50, it does suggest Samsung may soon unveil its 2019 Galaxy A-series lineup.

Samsung Galaxy A50 Inching Closer to Launch?

A recent report had claimed Samsung Galaxy A50 will be among the first set of Galaxy A-series smartphones that the South Korean chaebol will launch this year. The smartphone is expected to be powered by an Exynos 9610 chipset under the hood, which supports pretty much all the latest connectivity standards. The Bluetooth SIG certification confirms the handset will support the Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy standard. Aside from the Bluetooth version, however, the listing does not reveal any other key specification.

Samsung Galaxy A50 is rumored to sport a large 6.0-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-V display with a waterdrop-style notch and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Thanks to the smaller notch and slimmer bezels on all sides, the Galaxy A50 as well as other upcoming Galaxy A series smartphones are likely to boast a more impressive screen-to-body ratio compared to the company’s 2018 mid-range lineup. In the memory department, as previous Geekbench leaks have revealed, the Galaxy A50 will be available in 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants. As for onboard storage, it is rumored that the 4GB RAM will include 64GB of internal memory while the 6GB RAM variant will come with 128GB of internal memory. The Galaxy A50 is also likely to include a microSD card slot for further storage expansion. In the camera department, Galaxy A50 may sport an impressive triple-camera setup on the back. Battery life will be another area where the upcoming mid-range Galaxy smartphone is expected to be quite impressive. If rumors are to be believed, the Galaxy A50 will be fueled by a large 4000mAh capacity non-removable battery with fast charging support.
