Samsung Galaxy Watch Active

At its Galaxy Unpacked event in August last year, Samsung announced the Galaxy Watch, its first wearable to be launched under the Galaxy name. The company is now set to introduce a few more wearables under the Galaxy name at its upcoming Unpacked event on February 20. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Fit E fitness tracker, Galaxy Watch Active smartwatch, and the Galaxy Buds wireless earphones. Ahead of the big event in San Francisco next week, we are bringing you a few high-resolution press renders of both the Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Buds.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Buds High-Res Press Renders

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is expected to feature a 1.3-inch display and will be powered by the same dual-core Exynos 9110 SoC as the Galaxy Watch. It is expected to include 4GB of onboard memory, NFC support, and a heart rate monitor as well. Surprisingly, however, the smartwatch will have a smaller battery than its predecessor. While the Gear Sport packs a 300mAh capacity battery, the Galaxy Watch Active is said to feature a 230mAh battery. In terms of software, the upcoming smartwatch will be running Tizen 4.0 version out of the box. Thanks to NFC support, users will be able to make payments using the Galaxy Watch Active with Samsung Pay. Just like its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch Active should be capable of tracking a wide range of physical activities. Apart from the Black, Silver, and Rose Gold colors seen in the renders below, the smartwatch is expected to be offered in Green as well.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds are expected to include 8GB of internal storage, allowing for local music playback. In addition to higher internal storage compared to the Gear IconX, the Galaxy Buds will also come with support for the newer Bluetooth 5.0 standard. In terms of battery life, however, the Galaxy Buds may not impress everyone. According to a recent leak, the Galaxy Buds will pack a 58mAh capacity battery, while the charging case will have a 252mAh battery. The Galaxy Buds will be available in White and Black colors at launch.
