An upcoming Android smartphone from HMD Global bearing model number TA-1182 had been certified by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) earlier this month. The TA-1182 was granted certification by the Wi-Fi Alliance last week and has now been spotted on the FCC website.
Nokia TA-1182 Dimensions, Battery Capacity Revealed by FCC
The FCC filings reveal the Nokia TA-1182 measures 161.24 x 76.24mm with an overall diagonal of 178.36mm. Going by the dimensions listed by FCC, it looks like the smartphone will have a display size greater than 6.3-inches. The Nokia 3.2, which sports a 6.26-inch display, measures 159.4 x 76.2mm. More importantly, the FCC filings reveal the smartphone is powred by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 chipset under the hood. Since the Nokia 3.2 runs on a Snapdragon 439 chipset as well, there is a possibility of TA-1182 being a variant of the Nokia 3.2 instead of an all-new device. Apart from the physical dimensions and chipset, the FCC filings confirm that it will only support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz. However, the smartphone will have Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy support, as confirmed by its Bluetooth certification recently. In addition to TA-1182, the Bluetooth SIG had also certified the TA-1153 variant. At this point, we cannot be sure if TA-1182 and TA-1153 are both variants of the Nokia 3.2 or if the TA-1153 is a completely different device.
In terms of battery life, the Nokia TA-1182 is expected to be very impressive. The phone will pack a 4000mAh capacity battery, which will be sourced from Jiade Energy Technology (Zhuhai). As mentioned earlier, the details revealed by the FCC filings suggest the Nokia TA-1182 may be a variant of the Nokia 3.2, which was unveiled alongside the Nokia 4.2 at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona. The dimensions listed by the FCC, however, seem to suggest the TA-1182 will sport a slightly larger display than the Nokia 3.2.
