A new Vivo smartphone with model number 1907 has been spotted on benchmarking platform Geekbench today. This model is particularly new on Geekbench, but the exact same device appeared on NBTC Thailand and it does confirm the Vivo 1907 model to be the Vivo S1 that is coming to India this month. Vivo has an S1 in China as well but that is just a rebranded Indian Vivo 15 and the Indian Vivo S1 will be a quite different device compared to its namesake in China.
Getting back to the Geekbench listing, the Vivo 1907 is listed with an intriguing k68v1_64 motherboard. This model is attributed to an unknown Mediatek MT6768V CPU by the Geekbench listing itself. All we know for certain right now is that it is an octa-core ARM CPU with a base frequency of 1.70GHz. This specification and model number belongs to the new MediaTek Helio P65 SoC which is a 12nm processor that sits between the MediaTek Helio P60 and Helio P70. Processor aside, the handset has 4GB of RAM and runs Android 9.0 Pie which doesn’t help in identifying the handset either.
The Vivo S1 will be the first S series device in India and leaked teasers hint that it will bear a triple camera setup on the rear. The handset is also launching this month in Indonesia on July 16th and there’s already a product page active with complete specifications on Vivo’s Indonesia portal. If that is the same Vivo S1 that will be official in India soon, then the handset has a 6.38-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen with an on-screen fingerprint reader. The processor isn’t explicitly mentioned but hinted at as a 12nm octa-core chip with 2.0GHz CPU. There’s a 32MP selfie camera and a 4,500mAh battery with Dual-Engine fast charging on the upcoming handset. We expect the handset to launch in India in the coming weeks.
