Chinese smartphone maker Vivo may soon launch a new budget Android smartphone with a gradient color design at the rear. The smartphone, bearing the model numbers V1818EA/V1818ET has been certified by Chinese telecommunications regulatory authority TENAA. While the smartphone’s marketing name is yet to be revealed, the TENAA listings reveal some of its key specifications.
Vivo V1818EA / V1818ET Will Sport a 6.2-inch Display, Single Rear Camera
The Vivo V1818EA / V1818ET listings on TENAA tell us the smartphone features a 6.2-inch sized display. While the display resolution has not been listed, the images uploaded on the TENAA website reveal the smartphone will have a water drop notch at the top. Thanks to the tiny notch at the top, the V1818EA / V1818ET is likely to have a more impressive screen-to-body ratio compared to the company’s budget models from early 2018. At the rear, we can see that the smartphone features a gradient design and a single camera coupled with an LED flash module. No fingerprint sensor is visible on the back, which suggests it may only come with Face Unlock. As for physical dimensions, the handset measures 155.11 x 75.09 x 8.28mm. Keeping the lights on will be a large 3930mAh capacity battery. Even though the smartphone may not have a dual-camera setup on the back or a fingerprint sensor, the large battery may help make it at least somewhat popular among consumers in China.
The rest of the smartphone’s hardware specifications are expected to be listed on the TENAA website within the next few days. Apart from revealing some of the key specifications of the smartphone, the TENAA listings also hint at an imminent launch, at least in China. Since the V1818EA / V1818ET is not a mid-range or flagship smartphone, it is likely to be introduced in China without any fanfare. At this point, it remains to be seen if the smartphone will only be launched in China or if will make its way to a few other markets as well.
