Mysterious Vivo ‘V1901A’ With MediaTek Helio P35 SoC and 4GB RAM Caught on Geekbench

A mysterious new Vivo smartphone bearing model number V1901A has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmark database. The listing reveals the smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor.

Vivo’s First Helio P35 Smartphone?

Vivo has not launched any smartphone powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC so far, which means the ‘V1901A’ may well be the first smartphone from the company to use the 12nm chipset. The first smartphone to be powered by the Helio P35 was the Xiaomi Mi Play, which was launched in December last year. Honor also launched a smartphone powered by the Helio P35 SoC earlier this year, the Honor Play 8A.

As you can see in the Geekbench listing above, the Vivo V1901A managed to score 907 points in the single-core test and 4,413 points in the multi-core test. Apart from the chipset, the Geekbench listing also reveals the handset is equipped with 4GB of RAM and runs on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system. Since the V1901A has not appeared anywhere else so far, there is nothing else that we know about the hardware specifications of the handset. We hope to find out a lot more once the device appears on other benchmarking platforms such as AnTuTu. We can also expect it to pop up at TENAA and other global certification agencies in the coming weeks. In the design department, there is a good chance that the V1901A may feature a teardrop notch display and a gradient back similar to Vivo’s recent budget smartphones.

The MediaTek Helio P35 features a total of eight ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores clocked at 2.3 GHz with an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU clocked at 680 MHz. It supports up to Full HD+ resolution displays with a 20:9 aspect ratio. For an impressive camera experience, the chipset allows up to 13MP + 13MP dual cameras or up to a 25MP single camera. It also comes with light AI-enhancements such as face unlock, smart photo album, and single-cam/dual-cam bokeh.
