A mysterious smartphone with the model number M1903C3GG was spotted on the FCC website earlier this month. Another variant of the smartphone with model number M1903C3GH has now appeared on the FCC website.

Xiaomi M1903C3GH is an Upcoming Affordable Mi-Branded Smartphone

The Xiaomi M1903C3GH FCC documents reveal that it will be a Mi-branded smartphone. However, the other pieces of information revealed by the FCC suggest it will not be a mid-range or flagship-grade smartphone. Instead, the M1903C3GH and M1903C3GG are expected to be affordable budget Android smartphones. The M1903C3GH has been listed to support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and the Bluetooth 4.2 standard. Since the latest mid-range and high-end mobile chipsets offer Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac as well as Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy support, it is quite clear that the M1903C3GH will be a budget Android smartphone. Apart from Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, the FCC documents also confirm the handset will support GLONASS, BeiDou, and FM radio.

The most affordable Mi-branded Android smartphone currently is the Mi A2 Lite, which is sold in China and India as the Redmi 6 Pro. However, even the Mi A2 Lite supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy standards. This suggests the upcoming Xiaomi M1903C3GH and M1903C3GG smartphones could be priced even lower than the Mi A2 Lite. Xiaomi launched the Mi 8 Lite earlier this year at a surprisingly affordable price point, so it is certainly plausible that the company may release a competitively priced Mi-branded handset in select markets early next year.

While there is absolutely no other information available currently regarding the hardware specifications of the M1903C3GH and M1903C3GG, there is also a possibility of it being the Redmi 6 Plus.  The Redmi 5 Plus was launched in global markets as the Redmi Note 5, so the Redmi 6 Plus could debut in markets outside China as the Redmi Note 6. Xiaomi has already launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro successor, although it is yet to go on sale in the manufacturer’s home country. The smartphone comes with a bigger 6.26-inch Full-Screen display with a notch at the top, improved dual cameras on the back, and a 20MP + 2MP dual-camera setup on the front.
