During the Qualcomm Summit last year, Xiaomi announced that its upcoming Xiaomi Mi 10 series of smartphones would be powered with the Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 865. While Samsung has already confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S20 series (which, by the way, is likely to utilize the Snapdragon 865 SoC) would be unveiled on February 11 during the Galaxy Unpacked event, it looks like Samsung won’t be the first company to use the flagship chipset and Xiaomi might take the lead here. As per the recent leak, the Xiaomi Mi 10 smartphone could launch before the Samsung Galaxy S20 series does.
Xiaomi Mi 10 with Snapdragon 865 Chipset to Launch Ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Series
The news has come up courtesy of a bunch of posts and comments made on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo. As seen in the screenshots above, the company had already hinted that the Xiaomi Mi 10 smartphone would be launched sometime during Q1, 2020. Post that, Digital Chat Station, a Chinese tipster who provides accurate leaks most of the time, has also claimed that Samsung won’t be the first company to make use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset and that Xiaomi could very well launch the Xiaomi Mi 10 in February. Earlier, the same tipster gave us a hint about the battery of the device. As per the post, the Xiaomi Mi 10’s battery could range somewhere around 4,500mAh to 4,800mAh. The source itself has mentioned that the leaked battery capacity may differ from the actual battery by ± 100mAh, so we might as well take the leak with a pinch of salt as of now.
Even Lin Bin, the co-founder of Xiaomi, has hinted the same. In response to a question asked by a fan, he said (roughly translated from Chinese), “I will tell you after the New Year.”
As of now, there is not much known about the Xiaomi Mi 10, but it seems like we will be seeing more leaks and reports about the device in the coming days as the launch date appears to be imminent.
